TalkInCompany is launching this spring in Wandsworth, offering locals the chance to abandon the solitary sandwich lunch and make for a restaurant where a speaker will talk, entertain and inspire. The lunches, which include a glass of wine, will be tasty and simple, the people friendly and interesting, the speakers thought provoking and uplifting.
The events are to be held at the stylish Italian restaurant Amici on Bellevue Road and will provide a platform for a wide range of speakers from entrepreneurs to authors who will engage, interest and inspire while supporting and publicising a charity of their choice.
Lunches are organised in groups of three to provide a breadth of topics and variety of speakers. Tickets are limited and cost £75 for the season. Whether you want to come with a friend or on own, you will be more than welcome.
Introductory Summer Season
April 27 – 12noon-2.30pm
Keith Abel, Founder of Abel and Cole
Having unexpectedly failed his bar exams and found himself broke, Keith set up the country's leading organic home delivery service. According to his newsletter, if Keith was a vegetable, he'd be purple sprouting broccoli: "it is very erratic and you can't get rid of it." An entertaining and inspiring speaker, Keith will be supporting FareShare, a UK-wide charity that redistributes surplus from the food industry to vulnerable people in the community.
May 25 – 12noon-2.30pm
Mike Dixon, Author of The More you Give the More you Get
Mike believes passionately that it's great to give and by using your talents, skills, and time to help others, your life and relationships can be improved. He will explain how we can all make a difference using a fascinating mixture of quotes, anecdotes and examples, and show how being generous with yourself, energy and money can really make a difference to you and your business. Mike will be supporting Whizz-Kidz, the charity he set up to provide mobility equipment for disabled children.
June 29 – 12noon-2.30pm
Nicola Horlick, CEO Bramdean Asset Management
Nicola Horlick caught the imagination of the public nearly 10 years ago thanks to her large family, adrenalin-charged city career and high-profile spat with a previous employer. Here is someone with an amazing ability to bounce back. Nicola has left the square mile and set up her own business Bramdean Asset Management. Author of Can you have it all?, the answer, it seems, is yes! Nicola’s chosen charity is Great Ormond Street Children’s Charity for seriously ill children.
