Wellow is a village located in the Mendip district of Somerset, England. The village is situated on the River Chew, 8 miles (13 km) east of Wells and 3 miles (5 km) north of Shepton Mallet. According to the 2011 census, the village had a population of 1,076.

The village has a long history and was recorded in the Domesday Book as being part of the estates of Walter de Douai. In 1227, Henry III granted a charter for a weekly market and an annual fair to be held in the village. During the 14th century, Wellow was struck by both the Black Death and two major fires which destroyed much of the village.

Despite its small size, Wellow has a number of amenities including two pubs, a primary school, a church, and a village hall. The village also has its own cricket team which competes in the Somerset Cricket League
