The Best Breakfast in London - Top 15 Places

Website: www.epellicci.co.uk

E Pellicci is a charming family-run cafe that has been serving up delicious Italian-inspired dishes for over 100 years. From the moment you step inside, you’ll be transported to another era with its beautiful interiors and vintage decor.

What sets E Pellicci apart from other breakfast spots in London is its commitment to freshly prepared, home-cooked dishes. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic fry-up or something more exotic, such as pancakes served with freshly squeezed orange juice, there’s something to satisfy every craving on their all-day menu.

One of their standout dishes is their homemade steak pie served with hand-chopped chips – it’s hearty and flavorful, perfect for those seeking comfort food. Vegetarians will love their rich spinach and ricotta cannelloni, which is bursting with flavour.

To complement your meal, E Pellicci serves great quality Arabica bean coffee as well as alcoholic beverages thanks to its alcohol license. You can enjoy a glass of wine or beer alongside your breakfast or brunch.

2. The Wolseley

 best breakfast in london

Website: www.thewolseley.com

The Wolseley is a café-restaurant that exudes grand European tradition with its black, gold, and cream colour scheme. The ambience suggests prestige, and the high ceilings give off an aura of elegance. Although the venue has only been around for a decade, it has become a must-visit spot on any London visitor’s list.

The kitchen at The Wolseley is famous for serving outstanding breakfasts that won’t disappoint anyone. Their all-day menu offers an impressive range of dishes to choose from – oysters, steak tartare or soufflé Suisse to wiener schnitzel or grilled halibut with wilted spinach and béarnaise sauce. They have something for everyone.

On Sunday afternoons at The Wolseley, three-tiered afternoon tea stands are abundant and enjoyed by all kinds of patrons: from Japanese businessmen to groups of female friends. Mini cakes and scones on the top tier are as English as the jam that comes with them; crustless finger sandwiches at the bottom are replenished by formal staff from a massive service team.

Our waiter appeared somewhat jaded but was nonetheless efficient in dealing with complaints about weak coffee from another table with grace. The Wolseley is worth visiting not just for its excellent food but also for its fantastic ambience reminiscent of old-world charm blended seamlessly into modern times.

3. Dishoom

Dishoom

Website: www.dishoom.com

Dishoom is a unique eatery that offers delicious Bombay-style cuisine in an atmosphere inspired by old post-colonial ‘Irani cafés’ of Bombay. The restaurant features retro design elements like whirring ceiling fans, low-level lighting and walls adorned with vintage Indian magazine advertising.

The menu at Dishoom is the main attraction, loosely styled on Irani café food with birianis, bhel (crunchy puffed rice with tangy tamarind chutney), pau bhaji (toasted white bread rolls with spicy vegetable stew filling) and more. Their black dal was exemplary, and the lamb biriani was suitably moist.

One thing we loved about Dishoom was their endlessly refilled house chai (Indian-style tea). They also offer other interesting drinks like excellent lassi concoctions, good wines by the glass and even soft drinks, Limca and Thums Up, in glass bottles imported from Mumbai.

While queues are common in the evening, bookings are taken for breakfast and lunch but only for groups at dinner. However, waiting isn’t so bad as they have a basement bar where you can relax while waiting for your table to be ready.

If you’re looking for a unique dining experience with great food options influenced by Bombay-style cuisine, then look no further than Dishoom!

The restaurant has become famous for its signature dish – the Duck & Waffle. This mouth-watering creation combines crispy, confit duck leg with a perfectly cooked waffle and syrupy mustard maple sauce. It’s no wonder this dish has been featured on many ‘must-try’ lists!
